About

Jessie Riley | Style for any occasion.

I owe a lot of my talent to the fact that my mom has owned her own hair salon in Charlotte, NC for longer than I’ve been alive. I began coloring and styling hair and doing makeup as soon as anyone would let me, maybe even before that. It’s funny how I never realized that this is what I’d actually be doing with myself, I call this my accidental career.
After completing school in 2004 I worked at a couple local salons and at my moms. But I felt like if I was going to pursue this dream, that I had to go a little further than my hometown. So I moved to NYC in 2006. I started my journey at the Robert Kree Salon on Bleecker street. New York is full of opportunities as they say, and I guess I walked into the right place. It was here that I was given the opportunity to explore new techniques that are my most frequently used today. In 2008 I went with the owners to the newly opened Chris Chase Salon, where I got to work with some of fashions biggest names and really developed my ideas of what New York women and men want to look like.
Since November of 2009 I have been operating my own business out of the Jeff Chastain Parlor in Union Square. Here I have begun to work closely with Ford Models as a colorist to some of today’s freshest faces, as well as working on a number of other fun projects around the city. Working here means that I’m free to serve my clients as closely as possible, and making them feel comfortable and beautiful is my priority. My availability is listed under appointments on this site, feel free to contact me for an appointment or consultation. After you look at all of my hard work, of course.
